A long time ago I heard about the power of asking a quality question. A quality question, as I heard it defined, is a question which leads your mind in a positive, solution-oriented direction. In other words, it helps focus you on something empowering, and it therefore helps you bring you to a heightened mind state. This morning, I made a list of a bunch of questions for me to consider in the new year. I believe these questions fit the bill of quality questions. They are: How can I…

Day 149: the Holy Grail of Empowerment
So I have a few questions. Why are we here on this earth? Are we here to do what other people want us to do? Are we here to be what they say we should be? Do they have the key to what it should mean to be human, and should it be our purpose to follow in step with them? Or, do we have our own purpose, which perhaps nobody else exactly shares, that we need to find in order to be truly happy? Personally, I am finding great…
Day 148: It’ll All Work Out. Promise.
So how do you focus on what you want when there are active thoughts and vibrations that don’t feel good? How do you “look past” those thoughts and feelings to something that feels better? Certainly this is not always easy to do. Those pesky thoughts that you feel right just feel so real, don’t they? They seem to scream for your attention. And indeed they do. It is not always easy to ignore them, or not to add them anymore energy. And yet, you always have a choice. You can…
Day 147: Your Child Self Created You as You Are Today
Tonight’s post is about you. It is about your life. What is your life about? Why are you here? What is it you are up to in this life? Do you feel you are being who you want to be? Are you being the person you wanted to be when you were a child? Is this how you imagined you would become? Many people, most people, can see a link between the vision they had as a child and the person they end up seeing in the mirror as an…
Day 146: Fast Times with Intermittent Fasting
Over four months ago, at the end of August, I began doing intermittent fasting. This involved a significant but quite manageable adjustment to my eating schedule. Instead of eating at all hours of the day or night, I control when I eat. Usually, it means eating later in the morning, and stopping earlier at night. I have fasted for as long as thirty six hours, but most of the time, my fasting period has ranged from sixteen to twenty hours, with a four- to eight-hour eating window during the day.…
Day 145: Defeating The Anxiety Ogre
Okay, so if you have read my blog for awhile, you probably are aware that much of what I write falls into the category known as Introspection. Last time I checked, each one of us humans is selfishly oriented, and I am no less so than others. I admit it: I’m obsessed with myself. My particular self-obsession tends to manifest as a desire to understand myself better, and specifically to understand my mind better… so that I can use it to its full potential, and so I can live a…
Day 144: How to Walk Freely in the World
On this Christmas morning, after opening our presents, my wife and I had an excellent discussion of what we saw for ourselves in 2019. In fact, she had the idea that we should sit down and write our thoughts out. What blossomed from this was inspiring. One idea that became clear to me is the value of having experiences that bring us to vibrational high points. What they call “peak experiences.” You know what I’m talking about: that trip that is so fun, that hike in nature, maybe that movie…
Day 143: The Power of Presence
Time isn’t precious at all, because it is an illusion. What you perceive as precious is not time but the one point that is out of time: the Now. That is precious indeed. The more you are focused on time–past and future–the more you miss the Now, the most precious thing there is. Why is it the most precious thing? Firstly, because it is the only thing. It’s all there is. The eternal present is the space within which your whole life unfolds, the one factor that remains constant. Life…
Day 142: Freedom from Mental Bulls##t (Did I mention I was on TV today?)
I feel like I get to breath again. Man, it has been a busy last few days: we hosted two Holiday parties in our home (which involved the prerequisite house cleaning and extensive arrangements). I played piano for a high school choir performance, performed at the airport, handled the usual going ons with my teaching business… and played piano on TV this morning. Let’s pull this apart a little bit. Each of these things carried with them a certain amount of risk or uncertainty. Playing for the high school choir…
Day 141: You’re Not Done Yet
Tonight I am going to post lyrics for a song I wrote last year. This song as yet has not been recorded. It is called “You’re Not Done Yet.” Even when you think you have failed, or fallen short, the truth is, there is always more to the story. Have faith, because you are not done yet! “You’re Not Done Yet” by Chris Goslow verse: I can only imagine how bad you feel ALL THE PAIN you’re going through in this ORDEAL IT WILL HEAL with time, I BET cuz…
