Okay, so let’s say there’s something in your life that you really, really want. It is in an area where you have experienced difficulty in the past. You want so badly for this part of your life to be in a place of total happiness, empowerment, ease, and joy. You just want to be able to have it already, you know what I mean? You want to push the magic button and–abracadabra!– the past is cleared away and instant happiness ensues. The thing is, it doesn’t work like that. When…

Day 235: Magnificent Ongoing Growth
The Law of Attraction states that we attract the people, things, and experiences through our thought vibration. Many people (most people?) have probably encountered the Law of Attraction in movies like “The Secret,” books like “Think and Grow Rich,” and teachers such as Wayne Dyer and Abraham-Hicks. However, exposure to an idea and mastery of its principles are two very different things. I should know. I have been studying this LOA stuff (short for “Law of Attraction”) a long minute now, and sometimes I still feel like I’m working out…
Day 220: The Good Time is What Matters
If you are happy, even in the worst of circumstances, your energy transcends the circumstances. You are then leading the circumstances, generating your own experience. You are truly “in control” of your life because you control your vibration. Whereas, if you are always looking to circumstances as your cue, deciding your worthiness or lack thereof based on what is happening outside of you, then you are always at the mercy of conditions you can’t control. This leads nowhere good. I have a friend who is continually hard on himself. No…
Day 219: Takeaways from Seeing Abraham (Part 3)
We saw Abraham three weeks ago and I wrote about it here and here. Always more to reflect on. So here we go, part 3! “Calibrate to your Inner Guidance System” “Don’t calibrate to each other! You get all twisted into a pretzel! “Most people are calibrated to other people, and what you’ve come to teach is being calibrated to Source.” Abraham-Hicks, 2/11/23, Sacramento, CA What this means to me: I believe that when Abraham made these statements they were talking to a man who was attending the workshop with…
Day 215: A Happier Life
I have this notion, or maybe it’s an expectation, a hope, of being happier over time. I guess it’s the idea of “making progress” in my happiness journey. Yet when it comes to happiness, I’m not sure the idea of progress is the best analogy. I’m not sure happiness proceeds in a forward-moving, linear way. It’s not like building a house or running a marathon, in which you can tell where you are at any moment towards completing the goal. Maybe happiness is more like an “on-off” switch. After all,…
Day 213: Soothing Is Solving
“Soothing is solving.” This is something Abraham said when we see them a few weeks ago. I did not remember hearing this expression before. I wrote it numerous times in my notebook as I sat in the event room at the hotel. “Soothing is solving.” I like this, I thought to myself. As Abraham explains, we humans have such a tendency to try to “solve” everything with action. This is fine when the action is inspired. All too often it is not. Instead, it’s okay not to try so hard.…
Day 204: Allowing the Water to Boil
Last weekend my mom, my wife, and myself went to see Abraham-Hicks. I summarized what I got out of it in this post and this post. One of the most enticing ideas from the experience was the idea of Esther watching water boil. Here’s the basics of what Abraham said: If you watch water boil, first it will be cold water, then it will get hotter, then hotter, then hotter still. Then hotter still. Then hotter! Until finally it is boiling water. This is how your focus works. Be steady…
Day 201: Takeaways From Seeing Abraham (Part 2)
This is a continuation of my post from two days ago. Here are more takeaways I got from seeing Abraham-Hicks last weekend. Note: these quotes, as well as my interpretaitons, are my best recollection of what I heard. Details might defer from what Abraham actually said: I was born worthy, and still am! Abraham-Hicks, 2/11/23, Sacramento, CA What this means to me: Here Abraham was reminding us of a fundamental, immutable truth: we were born worthy, we have always been worthy, we will always be worthy! The challenge for a…
Day 199: Takeaways From Seeing Abraham (Part 1)
Two days ago, my wife, mother, and myself saw Abraham-Hicks live here in Sacramento. Abraham comes in the guise of Esther Hicks, a very nice woman who travels around and broadcasts online channelling of “Abraham,” a collective consciousness full of wisdom and insight that appeals to New Age spiritual types like myself.* We had an excellent time. I thought I would write down some of my favorite things they said and what it means to me: What IS slows down what is BECOMING. Abraham-Hicks, 2/11/23, Sacramento, CA What this means…
Day 183: Your Receiving Matches Your Transmission
As I was writing the other day, I am continually looking at how our thoughts match up with our experience. Today I picked up another way of looking at it, courtesy of Abraham-Hicks: your receiving matches your transmission. In other words, what you give off is what you are likely to receive back. Everyday we have the opportunity to look at how our thoughts and feelings match the experience we are attracting. For example, today I have been getting ready for a gig, playing through some classical music I have…
