So here I am starting the second week of the second year of this Daily Blog Project. It feels a little weird calling it the “365 Day Blogging Project” because obviously it is going beyond that (Day 700, anybody?), however, I think I shall stick to the name, because it gets the point across that this is a daily blog. Plus I just like the name 🙂 Gotta a lot of fond memories of it from Year One (sniff sniff).
When I started the blog up again a week ago, at first I was a little concerned that perhaps I wouldn’t enjoy it as much. I just didn’t know how I would react to taking it on after doing it every day for a year. However, I continue to enjoy doing it. It is a welcome part of my day.
Sometimes I may have less time or energy for it, in which case, I simply don’t spend as much time on it. That’s the value of having simple criteria for my blog!
On the other hand, obviously some posts are well thought out and provide a juicy writing experience. It seems to me that the juiciest posts have been posts about a specific subject. These are ones I put a lot of time thinking through, editing, and often researching (meaning, grabbing quotes). Some of especially satisfying posts from the recent past have been:
- Day 367: The Daily Money Juggling Challenge
- Day 345: Thoughts on Alice Schroeder’s Buffett biography
- Day 311: What’s Your Risk Tolerance? (As well as follow ups on Days 312 and 313)
- Day 309: Memories of Bob’s Class
- Day 265: Thoreau, Astute Nature Writer and Lover of Ponds
- Day 261: “Liar’s Poker,” or Michael Lewis’ sojourn into Wall Street hell
- Day 189: Grandiose Dreams and Earthly Realities
One of the benefits of doing a daily blog is that I have a lot of posts to choose from. Some I may love more than others, and that’s okay. Each day represents me putting down a new idea, or revisiting an idea and adding to it. It’s nice to have a big pool to draw from.
And growing bigger all the time…
