For a long time now, I have been a self-improvement junkee. I continually aim to make improvements to my life, to draw in more happiness and joy in it. By and large, this has been a positive thing in my life and something I am very happy about.
It’s not that I think there is anything wrong with keeping life as it is. It is just that for a long time I have known that it is possible for me to have more happiness, experience more joy, and be more empowered. Why shouldn’t I reach for more?
It is so easy to believe a distorted view of reality. The human brain, with its 2-million year old mechanisms designed to keep us safe, can often trick us into believing in disempowerment and conditions that deprive us of being happy. We need to clean the windshield every so often, or else it gets dirtied by dust, rain, bugs, and bird droppings.
As Abraham explains it, without realizing it most people continually create unwanted conditions over and over again. Instead of reaching for what we want instead, we “regurgitate” the same old, same old. By “telling it like it is” we doom ourselves to experience more of what-is, rather than creating what is preferred.
Yet we are powerful creators, and if we focus steadily on thoughts and ideas that make us feel good, we start to engage the Law of Attraction in ways that serves us. In fact, every time you are in a good mood, you are drawing more good-feeling things to you. It’s so simple, yet can seem so elusive.
Try it out! Clean that windshield. Try seeing the world through the eyes of Unconditional Love. Try looking for things to Appreciate.
Empowerment is just around the corner.
