I value being in alignment and aim to do it as much as possible. Alignment is a concept I learned from Abraham-Hicks. It basically means being centered, clear-headed, and in your own power. It’s being in touch with your own instincts. They say “trust your gut.” Or your intuition. It’s like that.
It also corresponds with being happy 🙂 The process of getting into alignment means clearing your mind and allowing in thoughts that feel good.
I am learning that seem to most reliably get into alignment alone… or at least, by going within. In the past, I did a lot of workshops and learned from mentors. They gave me a lot of lessons, but it always bothered me that I felt dependent on these situations and people to get inspired or cause breakthroughs in my life. Don’t get me wrong: I have gotten great things from personal growth-type seminars. But I wanted to learn to manage my state by myself, without necessarily needing a seminar or workshop to do it.*
To date, the very best tool I have found for generating clarity/alignment is probably the journaling I do, typically when “blissing out” at the cafe. At that time I give myself space to clear my mind and reach for clarity.
Chris, this is really good. As you reach for clarity and inspiration, what you do is you allow yourself to focus on and activate thoughts of your connected nature, your Inner Being, and when you do this, you feel good, you feel glorious, because you are truly in communion, you might say, with a deep, enduring part of you.
Yes. And it feels great. That is alignment!
It most certainly is. It is alignment with Source. It is perhaps what those workshops are designed to do, yet what you clearly wanted is to remove the need to go to the workshop in order to align with yourself. And we think there could be nothing more natural than lining up with your true self. You do not need an intermediary!
Wow, thanks. That is really cool. I love that.
All in all, there are numerous ways I reach for alignment:
Ways I Reach for Alignment
- Journaling, whether “blissing out” at cafe or at home. This could even include doing a “brain dump” at my computer before getting to work, just to clear my mind.
- A quick moment or two of meditation as needed. Here I just get more present, as I observe my mind, and disconnect from any negative thoughts that might be trying to run the show.
- Running, walking, or exercise of any kind. A great distraction!
- Taking a nap. A great way to interrupt thoughts.
- Doing a mental check-in. Asking myself “How am I doing?” or other quality questions that get me present to whatever is going on to me. After this, reaching for better-feeling thoughts as needed.
- Checking my thoughts for where they are on the Emotional Guidance Scale.
- Listening to Abraham-Hicks recordings. I do this pretty much everyday. It’s my go to for clarity and inspiration.
*I actually still am a big fan of personal growth workshops. I expect there will be more of them in my future… which I will do on my terms.
