If there is one thing that I am learning, it is that the human mind is a funny thing: sometimes oscillating between empowerment and confusion, clarity and resignation, where thoughts of joy and thoughts of despair vie for influence on our attentions. Fortunately, I have an ever-growing commitment to alignment, so I am quick(er) to catch the presence of out-of-alignment thinking, and to pivot my thoughts to what I want. This sometimes works to give me immediate relief. Sometimes it takes a little while.
In the long run, it is giving me confidence that I can and will get back in the flow.
I am overjoyed at the consistent progress I am making towards a consistent positive mind state. I had several days that were what I would call challenging. Yet I was calm about it, stayed low key and inquiring, looking to see what was going on. I came out of that experience with even greater sense of clarity and happiness, as I feel the satisfaction of a positive mood returning to me.
Also, these days I have often found myself understanding the concepts of the Law of Attraction more fully. Certain concepts are starting to become second-nature, or at least to become more blended with my thinking.
For example, I am ever-more-clear about the fact that you cannot attract joy and satisfaction if you are thinking thoughts of dissatisfaction. It is not possible! To use an analogy I heard Wayne Dyer use, “What do you get when you squeeze an orange? You get orange juice. Because that’s what’s inside!”
You can’t get orange juice from a grape, and you can’t get happiness from thoughts of unhappiness. The vibrational content of you thoughts will attract the same back to you.
So if you are enjoying your day, satisfied with yourself and those around you, and appreciating your life… congratulatons! You will continue attracting more of that fine stuff.
On the other hand, if you are confused, resigned, upset, strung-out, upset, it will be difficult for you to attract something positive in those moments. I am learning that the key is to change the subject, or do something else (naps also work!).
Overall, the biggest takeaway I am getting from these learnings is that the key to being happy is… well, to be happy. By thinking thoughts that make you happy, you attract more to be happy about. It is so simple that it can be over-looked. Surely there must be more to it than that! Aren’t I supposed to go rail against the things I don’t want? Isn’t that the way to make things better?
No. You shouldn’t rail against what you don’t want. You should focus on what you do want, and make that what you talk about and celebrate.
That is, if you want to be happy 🙂
