My last post was from January 31st. At the time, I intended to pause the blog for February only. I ended the post with “See you in March!”
Today is June 1st.
Obviously I didn’t start my blog again as promised.
Whoops.
I’ve been chuckling about this ever since March came and went, and then ever since April came and went, and then ever since May came and went. You could say I just wasn’t feeling blogging yet. Or you could say I wanted to free up mental bandwidth for other projects. Either way, I chose not to “Press Play” until I was ready.
I wasn’t worried. MyHappinessObsession has always been about being flexible. Notwithstanding my first 365 Day Blogging Project–in which I blogged for 365 days straight–stopping and starting and starting and stopping again have come with the territory, as I changed my mind and allowed my priorities to shift. In fact, this blog has helped me become more flexible and authentic in real life.
Giving myself the freedom to say “No” gives me the freedom to say “Hell Yes!” 🙂
This blog is the great ongoing expression of Chris. It is an ongoing construction project of indeterminate length, a verbal sculpture garden I just keep adding to, to the tune of well over 1000 posts. It has no fixed deadline, no quotas to fill, and no agenda to serve except for my expressive satisfaction.
And that has suited me just fine, folks.
Oh and by the way, I’m starting up daily blogging again, at least for June!
Chris, this is wonderful. As you demonstrate your flexibility, your commitment to enjoying what you do, and doing what you enjoy, not simply doing what you originally planned whether you enjoy it or not, you model alignment.
Yes, thank you. I like that!
