These days, in my commitment to reaching for happy thoughts, I like looking at topics that are easy to access joy with.
So, for instance, recently I have found myself frequently thinking about reading:
“I like reading. Reading is fun. I’m light-hearted about it. I am easy-going about it. I am enthused about it. It is fun.”
Score! One thing I like about this topic is that there is very little weight or baggage around it. The stakes really aren’t that high. I find reading stimulating and enriching. I feel good about it. It’s a nice extra-curricular activity, not one that I associate with negative thoughts or resistance.
Or I think about running:
“I like running. It is an unfolding adventure. I so appreciate the way in which I approach exercise right now. It is easy-going and light. I am having a nice time.”
Running feels really good for me these days because of my easy-going, mellow routine.
Or I could think about this blog:
“I like this blog. I appreciate the many times I have articulated my thoughts on interesting topics. I appreciate reviewing my well-written posts.”
In all of these cases, I can quickly feel the benefit of reaching for good-feeling thoughts. It shifts my mood for the better. It is no trick, no ploy. I am not kidding myself. These are the real deal: topics that I can easily feel happy about. And this is important because vibration is important.
Aiming to feel good does good.
p.s. I wrote a post very similar to this almost exactly three years ago đŸ™‚ Funny enough, two of the topics I picked here–reading and running–were also on that list!
