I just finished my latest film scoring effort, using a clip from “The Three Musketeers” from 1933. I loved working with this clip, because there was no score other than in the opening credits and slides. Therefore, I could lay my score over the original sound, retaining the dialogue and sounds of horses galloping, people fighting, and gun shots.
Incidentally, someone just pointed out that a young John Wayne stars in this clip. How’d I miss that?!
