When times seem hard, when your mood seems bad, when you are frustrated or out of sorts, it can be helpful to pause and find a way to interrupt the momentum of that particular mind state so as to allow a more positive one to emerge. You should remember that all states of mind produce that which is like them. So, for instance, if you are upset and annoyed, and you act out on that, you tend to produce more to feel upset and annoyed about. Negative mind states, when acted upon, will foster more negativity. It is how things work.
So if you are feeling bad right now, remember that you do have a choice on how you act. If you keep acting on that negative feeling, breathing into it, speaking words that come from it, you will create more to feel negative about it.
Things like meditation, sleep, writing, taking a walk, or taking a break of any sort are great because they stop the negative momentum. On the other hand, getting upset, acting from that upset, will not solve things, will tend to make things worse, because the sponsoring thought was upset.
If you desire peace, you should cultivate a sense of peace inside you. If you desire joy and positivity, you should cultivate joy and positivity inside you. When you act from that joy and positivity, you will foster it in the moment, engender it in others, and produce like results.
Similarly, if you desire trusting and effective communication from others, then you can cultivate that expectation inside you. The world will tend to give you back what you give. So the more you can give something you would like to receive, the better.
Thank you. This is very good, simple, clear advice. It makes a lot of sense.
