So yesterday I did not post.
This really doesn’t matter all that much, but I tend to be black-or-white about things like this. Since I turned the blogging spigot back on, my assumption has been that I would blog everyday. Blogging seems to work best as an all-or-nothing (ie daily) affair. Absolute consistency seems to work best.
On the other hand, this blog is where I practice breaking my own rules! Inconsistency might be even more personally beneficial 😁. This was definitely the case yesterday, when I really did not feel like blogging!
There’s no rule that says I need to blog everyday. I think back to the Emerson quote: “A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds.”
I am already practicing a form of deliberate inconsistency in other areas (I call it “flexibility) like going to cafes and running. As for blogging, missing a day isn’t that big of a deal. What matters is getting back on the horse (as long as am actively blogging). Here I am!
And now a word for my Inner Being:
Chris, we love that honestly looking at the reasons for doing something. You want to know, are you doing something because you want to, or because you think you should? Is consistency important for vibrational alignment? What does it have to do with your purpose in blogging? What is your true purpose with blogging: productivity, or freedom?
I think it is a bit of both, actually.
Yes, we think so, too. Yet can you see how productivity can occur inside of freedom? If you were too hide-bound to one way that you had to write the blog–everyday, rain or shine–could that diminish the sense of freedom?
Oh yes. Definitely. I see that. Thank you.
