So I blogged all of October. It was good. Soon I am probably gonna shutter the windows temporarily again, but before I do that, there is a topic I have been planning to post about (Sometimes these things take time.)
Meantime, more posts.
Here’s what I enjoyed about blogging in October:
- I had fun. Overall, it was a lot of fun blogging about various topics, as I always do.
- Leaning into rhyming! I did more rhyming posts than I have done in recent years, six posts in total. My favorite line: No instincts go extinct/My bliss linked to expressed ink/The best drink in the nation/is the hydration that comes from creation (from here). Also, I wrote a cool poem using iambic pentameter.
- Expressing original thoughts. I enjoyed specific posts in particular: “The Thing about Groups,” “Swimming with Faster Swimmers,” “When Today’s ‘High’ Prices Become Screaming Good Deals.” I also liked sharing creative imagery such as fishing in the milky lagoon (a metaphor for creating) and building my cathedral (a metaphor for personal happiness).
- Blogging it my way. I love the flexibility I give myself with this blog. I start it up again, stop it when I want, post about what I want… I’m doing it my way.
- Exploring being highly-sensitive. This blog has continued to be perhaps the most sustainable, long-lasting creative project I’ve shared with others. This is no accident. I let myself show up honestly and I allow myself to be where I am. The blog fits because it matches what works for me.
