Tonight I wanted to do something different, so I am writing about an older post:
Day 112: It’s All About Attitude (Part 2) (from November 23, 2018)
In this post, I recount an experience I had trying to help someone whose car wouldn’t start. I didn’t end up helping him, as I didn’t have the needed equipment and don’t honestly know much about cars. Yet, apparently, he helped me. Or he impressed me with his positive attitude navigating the situation and his positive response to me even though I wasn’t very useful:
I regret that I wasn’t able to help the guy, but as I drove away, I was struck by this guy’s positive attitude. He made it easy to want to help him, in so far as we could help. And while I wasn’t able to do much for the guy, I felt that he did something for me by simply being friendly. Sometimes people can be surly over much lesser situations. [….]
I hope his luck turns around and he gets his car going. Seems to me it’s only a matter of time until his circumstance catches up to his attitude.
Day 112: It’s All About Attitude (Part 2)
Re-reading this post from over five years ago was a hoot. First of all, I don’t remember writing it. In fact, I don’t remember the particulars of the situation I wrote about (though I do have a vague memory of something like it). However, I am struck by the relevance of the message: being inspired by someone who has a positive attitude despite sucky circumstances.
Sounds like unconditional alignment! Sounds like the kind of person who generates his own positive attitude no matter what!
I like it!
