For me, today’s theme has been “organization.” Specifically, getting organized in the following ways:
- Shopping: My wife and I did our bi-monthly shopping trip, which today also included several more stops than usual, as it included getting gas, stopping at the bank, AND shopping for Thanksgiving and our upcoming Holiday Party.
- Scheduling for My Teaching Studio: I have several events coming up in December for my music students, and since it is the end of the month, there are certain scheduling things involving students (ie making sure they are all in the calendar, etc). Needless to say, there is quite a lot of thinking, scheduling, and planning to do to make these things happen.
- Money Management: With upcoming expenses, bills, and savings/investing contributions, there’s a lot of different money-related items to manage each month starting about now. Of course, that’s no problem for me, being the guy with the money management fetish. Yet it definitely requires close attention and planning.
You know, I hadn’t really realized how similar these items are, in the sense that I/we plan for each of them. Even with grocery shopping, it starts with us making a list each month before our first shopping trip of what we need.
Today when my wife were out shopping, there were extra purchases involved. She seemed a little concerned about this, but I said to her, “To be honest, I had already planned to get those things, so it’s not a problem.”
I love executing well-organized plans!
