So here we are, it is the 20th day of the month. I have been blogging all month, after taking nearly two months off. The plan was to blog each day in November. I am starting to think about what’s next.
For starters, I like that I am assessing the process as I go. I have already proven my might in daily blogging: 365 Days in a row proved a scalable mountain! I no longer feel the same need for that level of consistency. But I continue to get value from the discipline of daily posting… with the provision that I can turn the spout on and off, ie take planned breaks from time to time.
This month there have been days when I have been eager to post…. and other days when I have been not so much. My “Life and Times of a Half Marathoner” post is a good case in point of a very satisfying post. I put a lot of thought into it, and I felt very appreciative of having this blog to write it.
On other days, I admit that I really just wanted to get the post done with (I won’t besmirch my dignity by naming specifics!).
The fact is, I’m not always in the mood to share my thoughts with the world! Yet whether I always want to do it or not, the daily discipline of posting something continues to help me overcome my internal systems of perfectionism and over-thinking. It helps me get shit done! I haven’t quite discovered a method quite as effective, at least not in the writing department.
Overall, it’s fun to have a venue for expressing myself through writing! And if you will permit me the possible indulgence of occasionally being a bit too focused on myself, I believe that there is merit in continuing this blog one way or another.
Still thinking over the next step. Will be sure to let you know 😉
